WHAT IS WORSHIP?
The Bible tells us that "a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks." (Jn 4:23) But what does that mean? Is it reserved for corporate gatherings? Is it limited to musical expression? How can we worship God on a daily basis and truly offer our "bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God" (Rom 12:1)?
At Out of the Box: Redefining Worship we will explore these things in very practical ways. You will have an opportunity, not only to learn, but to also put these concepts into practice in order to increase your worship to the Lord.

In Biblical times, worship was a family affair. Fathers, mothers, and children came together. How can we practically develop the heart of worship within our immediate family? How do we engage children in our corporate worship times? During this session, we will discuss this as well as get practical tools to implement within our homes and churches.
Worship is a daily activity not just reserved for Sunday morning encounters. How do we engage in worship on a daily basis? Is "loving our neighbour" a way we can show worship to God? What acts of service can we participate in that show our love for God? How do we guard ourselves from striving and works as a means to earn grace or accolades? Come ready to learn how worship can be serving.
Worship involves a two-way conversation with the Lord. Prayer is just that. A conversation. Are we ready to listen? How can our prayer life become an act of worship? Here we will explore this as well as spend some time in prayer.
In this session, we will explore the idea of what people have called "soaking" in the Lord's presence. Is there a Scriptural foundation? What is the purpose? What would it look like to incorporate presence into our daily walks with the Lord? If our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19), is this necessary? Are there still times where the Lord's presence is more felt than others? If so, why is that? Times of rest in his presence are essential to our Christian life. This session will give you an opportunity to have your spirit renewed while pursuing the presence of the Lord.
As a leader of the music ministry of your church, you have been lovingly called the "Worship Leader" or "Worship Pastor". The title itself can have many implications. Is it our job to lead people into worship? What opportunities and opposition does a leader face in this role? This session will be formatted as a Q&A with opportunity for discussion about the Biblical foundation of this role, the many challenges of the modern-day worship leader, and how to work with church leadership in this role.
You may not be able to sing, you may not play a musical instrument, but you can swing a hammer or have an amazing skill when it comes to balancing the books. Your 9 to 5 job can also be an act of worship! How is this possible? What does it look like to work "as to the Lord and not for people" (Col 3:23)? Let's discuss how our seemingly mundane jobs can be an act of worship.
